Port Hedland International Airport Redevelopment project

The Town of Port Hedland will invest $70.5 million over the next five years to create a modern and well-serviced airport that provides a welcoming gateway to the North West. The redevelopment will include refurbishments, infrastructure upgrades, new subdivisions and new business opportunities.

In the future, our new terminal and precinct will accommodate more than 700,000 passengers per year. We will expand our regional, national and international flights with more airlines, more routes and more services.

  • Apron extensions
  • Bus and taxi parking area
  • Car park upgrades
  • Electrical upgrades
  • Freight facility
  • Logistics precinct
  • New wastewater treatment plant
  • Operations building
  • Runway reseal
  • Terminal extension and refurbishment
